Band

Wanniassa Hills has two woodwind Bands which are directed by a Band Teacher from the Instrumental Music Program (IMP) and our school staff. Students enter the program, via assessment, in Year 5. It is anticipated students will remain in the program for two years. A nominal fee to hire instruments is charged.

The Bands practice two sessions per week in school time. Additional practices may be scheduled before school or combined with other schools throughout the year. Year six band students also have the opportunity to perform in Bandstravaganza, which is a collaborative performance with school bands across the ACT.
